BUDDHIST CULTURE OF CHITTAGONG

Dhaka (City &Sonargaon)-Cox’s Bazar (Himchhari Eco Park &MoheshKhali Island)-Bandarban(Chimbuk& Buddhist Temple)-Rangamati(Boating at Kaptai Lake)-Chittagong- Dhaka.  8 Days / 7 Nights

Day -1: Arrive Dhaka 

P1120765-optArrive Dhaka meet & greet at airport/bus terminal. Transfer to hotel for overnight stay at Dhaka.

Day -2: Dhaka sightseeing

7 am take a full day Dhaka sightseeing covering Curzon Hall, ShahidMinar, Dhakeswari temple, Lalbagh fort (Close on SUN)/National Museum (Close on THS), National Parliament Building, BaitulMukaram Mosque &Komlapur Buddhist Temple. Also visit old part of Dhaka covering Sadarghat river front, Pink Palace (Close on THS), Armenian Church & Star Moque. Dinner at local restaurant & overnight at Dhaka.

Day 3: Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar 

After early breakfast transfer to bus terminal to catch the morningbus to Cox’s Bazar, theCoxs-Bazar tourist capital of Bangladesh. One of the longest stretches of beaches in the world. Unbroken stretch of up to 125 km of natural terrain. Cox’s Bazar houses one of the most revered Buddhist monuments specially the modern Buddhist who practice the Theravada sect of Buddhism. The AggmedaKhyang monastery posted on a series of round timber columns is one of the most visited Buddhist sites of this region.

Arrive Cox’s Bazar late in the evening & check in to your designated hotel for overnight stay.

Day -4: Cox’s Bazar

sonadia3After breakfast explore the Historical ‘Maheskhali Island’ by crossing bay channel through speed boat (40 munities). The island is dotted with forested hills & some mangrove forest. The ancient ‘AdinathTemple’ at the hilltop & the ‘RakhainVillage’ with their colorful BuddhistTemple have got a real attraction. Return to Cox’s Bazar and have lunch. In the afternoon drive though the coast line in the back drop of panoramic forested hills at HimchariEco Park. Enjoy the unspoiled beach of golden sands, surfing waves and stroll through the virgin beach. Visit the Himchari Eco Park on the hill top to enjoy the extraordinary sunset. Evening visit the Burmese conch shell market and enjoy dinner with sea fish. Stay overnight at hotel.

 Day -5: Excursion to Saint Martin Coral Island

saint_martinEarly morning transfer to Teknaf, located at the Bangladesh-Myanmar border. Board on the ferry it’s a 2½ hrs. cruise to Saint Martin coral island or NarikelJinjira (coconut island) as it is locally known is the last frontier of the country, disconnected from the mainland. It can only be riches by the blue colored Naf river, with Burmesemountains on one side. Bright yellow sand and the vibrant blue water of Saint Martin’s rustic island, houses of rare collection of corals. Sans electricity and the modern amenities that come with a tourist destination, this off beat site still attracts huge crowds who enjoy travelling back to the basics. An active turtle population nests here and it is a famous touristic activity to watch them lay their eggs on the beach.

After lunch board on the ferry & cruise back to Teknaf. Will return to your hotel in the evening. Dinner & overnight stay at Cox’s Bazar.

 Day -6: Cox’s Bazar-Rangamati via Bandarban                                                               bandarban-6-300  6 am check out from hotel & drive to Rangamati. En route visit the spectacular Buddhist Kyang at Ramu, the ancient capital of Rakhain tribal community &Bandarban hill district to enjoy tribal culture of Meghla. Drive to Zadi Hill (7 km) to visit the famous BuddhistGoldenTemple, the most ornamented temple in Bangladesh. Take a non ac local Jeep known as “ChanderGari” to undertake a panoramic drive to luminous Chimbook hill peak (3200 feet). This is the attractive place to visit and to get a touch of different tribal communities with their own cultural entity.

There are 12 to 13 indigenous tribal groups generated from the Sino-Tibetan origin that migrated mainly from Arakan and found safe shelter to this hill plateau since last 300 years.

After lunch drive to luminous hill district of Rangamati through the forested hills and tribal villages. The road journey (3½ hrs.) through the panoramic hill slopes covered with creeper jungles, way side tribal markets will be very much exciting.  Arrive Rangamati in the late afternoon. Overnight stay at Rangamati.

Day -7: Rangamati- Dhaka via Chittagong 

Early morning enjoy the fantastic cruising (3hrs.) through the crystal clear water of the 36816672vast Kaptai Lake, the largest man-made lake in Asia. The journey through the Suvolong point and entering into the widest part of the lake in the back drop of high hills covered with deep forest. Enjoy the hill top tribal Chakma or Marma village.  After lunch check out for Chittagong railway station. En-route visit Rangamati Buddhist temple & tribal shopping center. In the evening arrive Chittagong & visit the shrine of BaizidBostami&Riazuddin Bazar for shopping. After dinner board on the train to Dhaka. Overnight stay at ac sleeper class train.

 Day -8: Depart from Dhaka 

Early morning train will reach at airport railway station in Dhaka. Transfer to hotel/guest house for sower & breakfast. Free till transfer to airport & catch the onward flight to Myanmar.
