Archology & History

Archaeology the term derived from Greek Archaia and Logos meaning old artifacts, knowledge, and science. As whole archaeology is the ‘scientific knowledge about ancient and lost things. Archaeology essentially deals with the life, and activities of ancient people by identifying their origins, analyses of their remains, conservation, and their presentation in a regular scientific way. The focal objects of archaeology are History and Heritage. The study of archaeology functionally started in Europe in the eighteen-century. The study of archaeological activities began in Bengal from the second half of the nineteenth century. It started with the excavation of various identified archaeological sites in undivided Bengal.
